Maïlys chose to do her Licence de Droit at the ICP with one idea in mind: to go on to do the Master's in International and European Business Law. She tells us about the reasons for her choice and her experience as a Bachelor and Master student at the ICP.
A complete law course at the ICP
With her A-levels in hand, Maïlys hesitated between several law degrees. She quickly opted for the Institut Catholique de Paris, with the ambition of going on to do a Masters in International and European Business Law. "I'd like to work in law, international affairs and the business world. I did a baccalaureate in the British international section. So I typed in these keywords on the internet and saw the ICP Masters. I was immediately interested! She was also attracted by the ICP's teaching programme, which is based on personalised student support. Maïlys says: "I liked the fact that I had support. I was a bit worried about getting lost in the crowded, cold lecture halls... Here, the teachers are approachable and caring."
The choice of a master's degree on a human scale, open to the professional world
Maïlys rediscovered in her Master's what she had appreciated during her degree: the closeness of the teaching staff and the family atmosphere within the class. "The atmosphere is very good, with a lot of solidarity. We have a small number of students, so it's easier to forge links with the others".
The Master's in International and European Business Law offers a modern and innovative approach to the profession of business lawyer. Students are introduced to management, economics and accounting, giving them a global view of how a company operates. The course is accompanied by practical exercises that put students in professional situations under the watchful eye of experts:
"We do business games. For example, we work on a company, handing in fictitious documents to establish a risk map. Then we present the results of our work to professionals from major consultancies. This helps us to develop our skills, as well as putting us in real-life situations". Maïlys
A master's degree with an international outlook
The Master's in International and European Business Law offers courses in English, to prepare students for an international career. In the 2nd year, all students can choose to do a year at Saint Mary's University Twickenham in London or Notre Dame Australia University in Sydney. For her second year, Maïlys is still hesitating. She still has a few months to decide: England or Australia?
